Training, Apprenticeships and Internships for Beginning Farmers

With programs for farmers, students and teachers, Stone Barns Educational Center is a hub of learning, creativity and experimentation. It's basically Hogwarts for Regenerative where the picture-perfect grounds are abuzz with entry level wizards all the way up to those getting their OWLS. If you're in NYC, do yourself a favor jump on the train to Tarrytown and soak in the magic. (open to the public Wednesday - Sunday).

Soil Centric's Pro Tip

Stone Barns offers a comprehensive apprenticeship to "grow farmers." Apprentices emphasize one of three specialized production systems: crops, rangeland or grazing while rotating through all elements of farm production. Guided by Farm Director Jack Algiere and his team the program runs from February to November. Hands-on training is supplemented with classes and workshops. Admission is highly competitive and finalists are required to travel to the farm for an interview. For US citizens or green card holders.
