Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems
Regenerative Agriculture Degree Program
CSU, Chico Regenerative Agriculture Initiative (RAI) offers a masters program in regenerative agriculture that is open to students with a Bachelor of Science degree. RAI's program includes interdisciplinary teams, a collaborative network of applied research scientists and demonstration sites for animals, orchards and cropping systems. This interdisciplinary approach allows students to work with faculty to design a course of study best suited to their interests and goals. RAI is currently developing an online Certificate Program that will allow you to benefit from many of the same course offerings without the BS prerequisite.
Soil Centric's Pro Tip
Dr. David Johnson is a faculty affiliate at Chico's RAI. Johnson and his wife Hui-Chun Su developed the famed Johnson-Su Bioreactor which creates a fungal dominated compost. Dr. Johnson focuses getting the biology back into the soil and is some doing some of the most promising research on soil carbon sequestration rates around. Meanwhile, Chico State has the only college organic dairy in the West.
