Get Going at Green Pastures

Greg and Jan Judy help future graziers get started without land or livestock by offering internships at Green Pasture Farm in Rucker, Missouri. The internships which are at six-months or one year terms provide not just experience, but a background in practices. The Judy's also offer on Farm Consulting, Farm Tours and an annual three-day Grazing School in May.

Soil Centric's Pro Tip

Prior farming experience is not necessary to make a great candidate for a grazing intern at Green Pastures Farm. Interns with a hard work ethic, great attitude and good communication skills will learn cutting edge grazing techniques as well as income-generating extras like how to turn trees removed from silvopastures into lumber and a growing medium for shitake mushrooms. Applications are generally due at the end of August for the following April. Potential interns will be invited to the farm for a short visit to make sure there’s a good fit.
