Regenerative Agriculture Degree Program

Based at California State University Chico, the Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems (CRARS) offers a masters program in regenerative agriculture that is open to students with a Bachelor of Science degree. CRAR's program includes interdisciplinary teams, a collaborative network of applied research scientists and demonstration sites for animals, orchards and cropping systems. This interdisciplinary approach allows students to work with faculty to design a course of study best suited to their interests and goals. An online Certificate Program that will allow you to benefit from many of the same course offerings without the BS prerequisite is being developed. It will be especially appropriate for farmers, ranchers, and community members who require the ability to work on their own schedule while continuing to work full-time or attend to other responsibilities at home.

Soil Centric's Pro Tip

CRAR's interdisciplinary master's degree program allows graduate students to build a tailor made program that will support learning and research in the field of Regenerative Agriculture. Faculty includes Adjunct Professor David Johnson who, with his wife Hui-Chun Su, developed the Johnson-Su Bioreactor. The bioreactor creates a fungal dominated compost and Dr. Johnson, who focuses getting the biology back into the soil, is some doing promising research on soil carbon sequestration rates.
