County Level Technical Assistance for Land Managers

RCDs are your indispensable local resource to help you plan and implement carbon farming practices. With 98 offices in counties throughout California, RCDs know local ecological conditions, conservations strategies and the needs of agricultural communities, RCDS provide "boots on the ground" technical assistance and guidance to farmers and land managers and they have a long history of creating successful partnerships with local, state and federal agencies.

Soil Centric's Pro Tip

Get to know your local RCD office and the agents that work there, and if you are a land manager of some kind, make sure they know about your work and invite them out to your property. While each office is different RCD's are usually one of the best sources of information about county, state and federal funding opportunities for implementing conservation practices. If you are new to agriculture and would like to understand the local scene in your area and the opportunities and challenges of adopting carbon farming practices, sign up for your local RCD's newsletter and attend events they might host.
