Almonds and Rice

Greg Massa and Raquel Krach were both studying ecology when a light bulb went off and they realized they could apply agro-ecological principles to the Massa family's farm. They started by transitioning their rice production to organic agriculture. Because the couple came at farming from the viewpoint of ecology, their intention was to mimic nature as much as possible. This led them to increasingly adopt regenerative practices.Today they farm 250 acres of rice, almonds, wheat, cover crops and sometimes hay and animal products that are all certified organic.
