Regenerative Ranch with Internships & Apprenticeships

TomKat Ranch is an 1,800 acre grassfed cattle ranch 50 miles south of San Francisco offering paid educational summer internships that provide broad exposure and experience for individuals interested in regenerative agriculture and food systems. From June to August, interns are taught about and gain hands-on experience in land and soil stewardship, regenerative cattle grazing, wildlife conservation and protection, ranch management, ecological data collection, research design, selling grassfed beef, on-ranch education and gatherings, and the food system. Interns are also encouraged to take on independent projects that support their personal or professional goals and are aligned with the ranch’s mission.

Soil Centric's Pro Tip

The TomKat Ranch Internship is specially designed to help self-motivated individuals discover their unique niche in the complex regenerative food system. In addition to their staff of food advocates, grass-fed business professionals, holistic land managers, and educators, the ranch collaborates closely with scientists, entrepreneurs, funders, regulators, and communities. This dynamic and diverse workplace can be overwhelming for some but interns with a strong passion for regenerative food and the ability to articulate and advocate for their professional goals have found the summer to be powerfully transformative. Applications typically begin in February. Sign up for the TomKat Ranch's email list to learn when the application process opens.
